What could be your financial benefits if the profiled inkroller would be placed in your printing press? In which part of the process lies the advantage? An example calculation of cost reduction: A random printing company uses 150.000 kg of ink per press, per year at a cost of €2,50 per kg. The press experiences breaking of the web twice each day , due to pollution. This loss of production will “cost” the company € 250,- per hour. In addition it costs 8 hours per week to clean the press. This calculation is based on a production week of 5 days, and 50 production weeks per year. By placing 8 profiled rollers 3% less ink is used in the printing process. An added effect is that the breaking of the web occur only once per day, and that it only costs 3 hours per week to clean the press. There are other advantages that come with the profiled inkroller, witch are not included in this calculation. The reduction of costs per press:
In this example, the costs would be reduced by €105.000. For the record, we have to report that this calculation is based on facts, but that it cannot be used as a guideline. This is because of the fact that every press is unique, and that situations and circumstances may vary. The results of this calculation are based on tests with a KBA Comet heatset press with 8 profiled rollers. |
